zMail

NetSource One has implemented a new email server.  The old server has not been supported for many years and can not be upgraded.

The new server has many great features that our customvers are going to like.  For example the new web interface is top of the line.  It includes many other features as well, including calendaring!  You can check out the web interface in advance by going to http://zmail.nsoit.com and entering your email address as your username and use your current password.  There won't be any mail there, but you can look it over.  In the future, you will be able to access the web interface at mail.yourdomain.com after it goes live.

How do we go live with the new mail server?

Please contact mark@nsoit.com at your earliest convenience to arrange a date that is convenient for you to make the necessary changes.  Your domain and users have already been set up on the new server and are ready to go.  The steps required to use the new server are:

  1. Select a time/date for the changeover.
  2. At that time, you will need to modify the settings in your email client to send and receive messages via the new server.
  3. We will turn off your domain on the old server and set up a static route to force mail to the new server.

Security:

In order to offer higher levels of security in our email services we are enabling SSL on the mail server.  If you continue to use your current pop and smtp settings, you may be alerted about the SSL certificate having the wrong name. You can choose to accept the security certificate, or enter a new server address of zimbra.nsoit.com.

To take full advantage of SSL Encryption for your mail, you must use zimbra.nsoit.com as your pop3 and smtp server setting.

Username changes:

Your username on the new server is your email address.  You may currently have accounts set up with a dot in place of the @ sign in your email address.  Those will need to be changed.  For example: username.mydomain.com will become username@mydomain.comNo matter what your username is right now, you will need to make sure the username is changed to your email address when it goes live.
